I love where I live thanks to Binford Redevlopment And Growth (BRAG), a neighborhood organization located in the northeast corner of Indianapolis. BRAG is responsible for the revitalization of the 71st & Binford area over 10 years ago. I remember very well what that area was like as I have lived on the northeast side for over 30 years. What BRAG accomplished is nothing short of a miracle. The organization continues to address economic & quality of life issues facing residents & businesses in the area. I am proud to now be a board member.
BRAG is responsible for numerous initiatives including —The Market at Hague –The BRAG Business Alliance, which offers support to BRAG area businesses through networking events & relationship-building
– The 71st Street Multi-use Trail which opened in October, 2015 connecting Hague Rd to the shops at Binford.
– The BRAG IMPD Satellite Office located at Castleton United Methodist Church, which was the result of the community coming together to make it happen. To see all that BRAG has accomplished and what they continue to do, visit the website at http://www.binford71.org/
Having attended only a few board meetings, it is quite evident to me how passionate & hardworking the members are about enhancing the quality of life in our neighborhoods.
I joined the board because I am passionate about addressing the litter not only in the BRAG area but eventually throughout the city. Thanks to BRAG, I’ve been able to make some great connections. I can’t wait to see what the future holds! If you are interested in an initiative to clean up our city, please contact me. Together we can make a difference!
